The long awaited patch 2.4 with sunwell and tonnes of class changes has finally hit live. While I’ve been busy not playing the game, I still had the time to keep up with the changes by visiting various sites during my work-hours.
As for the raiding healing shaman, the major changes I’ve listed out in a previous post, so I’ll only write about the new changes: 1 second totem GCD and 3 second tremor pulse. All totems had their GCD reduced to 1 second, making 1 full set of totems only costing you 4 seconds of downtime (down from 6). It’s pretty significant, and should reduce alot of those “oh shit” situations when someone suddenly goes low while you’re placing totems (you should be staggering them in the first place shouldn’t you?). Tremor changes will help out a bit here and there, most significantly Archimonde (it’s mostly a PvP change).
Vial of the sunwell is exactly what the text says and has a 2 minute cooldown. It has a shard of the scale (15mp5) built in so it can’t be all that bad a trinket with or without the function. It’s a nice crutch to lean back on (a mini 2nd NS), and since using the heal doesn’t trigger GCD it can save your ass. I don’t have the trinket (Heroic dungeon + rep = wtf) but I’m assuming that it doesn’t scale at all with your other gear, and therefore if you’re a high-end raiding gear it probably isn’t that useful. I’d go as far as to say that you won’t be regretting getting one because I’m sure there will be situations where it is a necessity.
My guild is actually now in Hyjal and Black Temple, 3 down in Hyjal and 4 down in BT. If your guild can handle Kael (25 man ver, duh), the first half of BT and the majority of Hyjal really shouldn’t be a problem… at all. But now that they’ve removed the attunement reqs, you guys get to struggle through that content.
WoW has taken a back seat over the new Gundam vs Gundam (arcade) and Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (PSP). Maybe I’ll write about those some time.
